Davidson Stadium, following a sponsorship agreement with the Club's main sponsors, J. Davidson, scrap metal processors, of Altrincham.

Stadium Capacity

In August 2020, co-chairman Bill Waterson revealed that the latest ground licensing arrangements permit a capacity crowd of 7,873 spectators at The J. Davidson Stadium. This is a 29% increase on the ground capacity that had been applied before the Community Sports Hall (CSH) was erected. The increase is all the more surprising given that the CSH occuupies part of what was formerly a spectator standing area.

The previous official ground capacity (2006 data, before the Community Sports Hall was erected) was: 6,085, which comprised:

  • Hale End terrace: 1,434 - the away supporters' end.
  • Golf Road terrace: 1,554 - the home supporters' end.
  • Popular Side terrace: 1,774 - normally a site for home or mixed support but it can be split at various points to include segregated away support as well.
  • Main Stand and vicinity 1,133 - not normally segregated.
  • Family Stand 190 - not normally segregated but occasionally used for away supporters

    Inside the J. Davidson Stadium

When segregation is in force, the home supporters' terracing is at the Golf Road end (the end nearer to Altrincham town centre). Away supporters normally use the Hale End of the J. Davidson Stadium, which is uncovered, though an overflow is arranged for some matches into the Popular Side's Hale end section. As shown on the above plan, the Main Stand and the Dunn & Gray Family Stand are both on Moss Lane. The opposite side of the J. Davidson Stadium comprises terracing known as 'The Popular Side'.

During the 2014-15 season a new Community Sports Hall was opened at the Golf Road/Moss Lane corner of the ground. This incorporates a large bar, open to all on most occasions. The Hall also has numerous TV screens which show live matches from the Premiership and other competitions. Also, at the Golf Road end is the Robins' Shop (currently housed near the corner flag nearest the radio mast) as well as a purpose-built catering unit. For details of shop merchandise, click here. Also, a mobile catering unit is situated at the Hale end of the ground. The main toilets are to be found at the Golf Road End on the Moss Lane side but others are available at the away end.

    Food and drink

PLEASE USE THE BAR IN THE COMMUNITY SPORTS HALL- IT IS OPEN FOR EVERY FIRST-TEAM GAME. On the occasions when matches are segregated the Hall is only open for home supporters. The bar is equipped with several HD TV screens and a Premier League match is usually shown on Alty matchdays. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are also available at the permanent catering facility at the Golf Road End and from the mobile canteen at the away end, both of which are open for all first-team games..
