GATESHEAD 4 ALTY 1

Gateshead report that their "U19s maintained their 100% record for the campaign so far with a 4-1 Football Conference Youth Alliance win over Altrincham. After a goalless first-half, strikes from Olly Leedham, Joe Turnbull, and a Tom White brace saw the young Tynesiders cement their place at the top of Division I.

They were made to work hard for it against the Robins, however, who began their own campaign with a healthy win on home soil last week.

Coach Micky Cummins... said, 'We were lethargic in the first-half. Altrincham came and got ten bodies behind the ball, and we struggled to break them down... We still got in behind them a couple of times, but there was no real end product... We made three substitutions at half-time, and that gave us a bit of a lift. Two of the subs, Olly and Joe, came on and scored, and we were a lot better in the second-half.

'We conceded a bit of a sloppy goal, where better communication could have dealt with the issue... Whether it was the 3G pitch, and the ball not running through properly, who knows – but we’ll have to adapt'".

ALTY 4 MACCLESFIELD TOWN 1

In their opening game of the season, Altrincham won 4-1 at home to Macclesfield. The team was (A/Z order) Michael Carcamo, Duane Gardner, Josh Graham, Cole McGrath, Ryan Millington, Ellis Mitchell, Jude Oyibo, Jake Port, Alex Robbins, Callum Walker, Cailean Walters. Substitutes: Callum Jones, Peter Marsden, Billy Nugent. The Alty scorers were Gardner 2, Graham and Oyibo.
